Law.com published an interesting article Friday by Scott Balber of Chadbourne and Parke. Mr. Balber provides statistics on securities class action filings in 2007 and comments on reasons for recent pro-business trends in securities class actions, including the resolution of several key legal issues on grounds favorable to defendants, a jury verdict for the defense in an investor fraud case, and scandals involving high-profile plaintiffs’ lawyers.
